What to wear for your Spring or Easter Mini Session.

It can be overwhelming to plan clothing for photos. This sounds obvious, but nothing makes you look more uncomfortable in photos than clothing that you are uncomfortable wearing. This is especially true for kids. My goal is to capture fun moments of you and your little ones and if someone is upset or uncomfortable because of clothing, it shows!

Spring is here and isn’t it wonderful to feel we can wear lighter colours and fabrics again! So embrace it.

For spring, its nice to complement greens that are just coming out. Pink, peach, lilac and coral are good green complements. If you’re not a pastel person, navy and burgundy. If you don’t want any colour at all, go for neutral. Tans, greys, and cream still work in the spring. And finally, Pick a colour That Complements Your Skin Tones

Fabrics:

  • Go for clothing that you and your kids won’t be pulling on, itching in or constantly readjusting. Cotton is always a comfy choice, and it tends to photograph nicely.

  • Try a cotton dress for girls that twirls.

  • Nothing shiny! Avoid silk and shiny polyester. Shiny fabrics cling to problem areas and add folds in places that you don’t want them. Matte fabrics are much more flattering.

To help you pick out colours, or styles or shades that may complement my Easter set, I have pulled together a Pinterest board! Note, you are under no pressure to follow any guide, your photoshoot as always, is about you and your family. And you will look fabulous on set, whatever you choose to wear!
